Junior Sales Trader

We provide our clients with an end to end solution for all their precious metals requirements, including physical trading, financial trading, mining, refining, logistics, insurance, vaulting and marketing & distribution.
We are an ambitious and growing company looking for a Junior Sales Trader in our Hong Kong office. The position reports directly to the Managing Director and Head of Trading, UAE. As a Junior Sales Trader, you will support the group in developing a market leading precious metals trading desk. The job is located in Hong Kong, with a requirement to be present in the office on a full-time basis. The role may require occasional international travel.
Key Responsibilities
Market Reports
Assist in developing daily, weekly, and quarterly market reports by providing data and initial analysis.
Monitor industry trends and market conditions.
Client & Service Provider Support
Liaise with accounts, operations, and sales to ensure a smooth and seamless client experience.
Assist in maintaining strong client relationships by maintaining smooth and timely communications.
Support senior traders in client meetings by preparing briefings, notes, and trade summaries.
Sales & Marketing Support
Assist in the development and maintenance of digital content, including client presentations and marketing collaterals.
Ensure brand accuracy across all created collaterals.
Trading & Operational Support
Assist with trade booking, order entry, and updating internal records, ensuring accuracy.
Monitor and manage position exposure and prepare detailed, timely and accurate position reports.
Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate workflow and ensure smooth operations.
Support senior traders in creating reports and commentaries for trading activities.
Trade Learning & Development
Shadow senior traders to understand trading strategies, risk management, and client interactions.
Participate in training sessions on hedging strategies and refining processes.
Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities in the precious metals sector.
Job Requirements
1-3 years of experience in commodities trading, risk management or logistics, ideally with precious metals.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with an ability to multitask.
A proactive team player who understands and appreciates the bigger picture.
Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Fluency in spoken and written English, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese (other language skills are a plus).
